BISTANGO IN IRVINE

If you live in Orange County and haven’t been to Bistango, you should add it to your list of spots to dine. I’ve been there many times for private luncheons and dinners and have always been pleased.

It’s located in Irvine in the Atrium Building and is known for its new American cuisine.  It’s won numerous awards for its private dining menu and service. I can attest to both. The restaurant is an elegantly decorated and very spacious. It also has an outdoor patio with furniture and heating lamps for the perfect al fresco experience.

Their portions are generous so be sure to save your appetite. I usually order the Fettuccini Pasta with marinated beef tenderloin, shiitake mushrooms, fennel, and red onions, with tarragon and mushroom sauce. It’s one of my favorite pasta dishes!

If you prefer a seafood dish then their pan seared Pacific Red Snapper is delicious. It’s served on sweet white corn risotto, wilted pea sprouts, and white balsamic vinaigrette.

For dessert, I loved their blueberry Vienna style cheesecake with blueberry compote and vanilla sauce. Believe me, I usually don’t care for cheesecake but this one was too good not to finish.

In terms of their service, I am almost always pleased with it. Parking is never an issue either which is convenient – enjoy their complimentary valet parking.  When I mention Bistango to friends, they usually haven’t heard of it. It’s just a great lunch/dinner spot for any day or serves as the perfect restaurant to host a private event. Give them a try!
