This, by far, was probably the most memorable experience of the entire Dubai trip: a woman’s only private beach! Every hijabi’s DREAM! This is one of the perks of living in the Middle East. As a hijabi, we barely have the chance to sunbathe in an open and private space so being able to enjoy an entire private beach without having to worry about what to wear or covering up was such a delight. The view overlooking the golden sands of the gorgeous Jumeriah coastline didn’t hurt either ;)
The women’s beach that we went to is called Dubai Ladies Club located in Jumeirah. It’s also a spa that offers plenty of services. The entrance fee was about $50 and that gives you access to the private beach and pools. I will say that spas in the US are a bit more generous with their guests as the entrance fee did not include access to the sauna, Jacuzzi, or steam room. I wasn’t able to get enough footage as they are pretty strict on maintaining the privacy of their guests, but I was able to snatch a few.
As for my beach look, I wore a flowy red and black maxi dress with a handmade turban that I absolutely love! It’s by TURBANSbyGOHARA and what’s special about this brand is that their turbans are very lightweight and do not stick tight to the head like some other brands do. I don’t like the look of a tight turban with the head bulging out. I like it to be loose fitting so that I don’t get a headache from the tightness of the turban, and I can have some space to move around in. Be sure to check out their page for other prints and styles!
