I know many of you have been waiting for this review on MAYA Cosmetics Halal nail polish!

MAYA nail lacquer prides itself on being “Halal Certified”, which basically means it has been tested by respected religious leaders for water permeability. If you visit their site, they list the Shuyoukh that have put their stamp behind this product. It’s really nice to know that your wodoo (ablution) is not compromised when wearing it. To ensure it’s safe for wudoo MAYA recommends using one coat of color and one coat of the glossy top coat.

I tested out a really pretty shade called Seashell, which is a milky white color with pink undertones. If you like OPI’s “sweetheart” or “bubble bath” colors, then MAYA’s Seashell is the perfect alternative. I felt that I had to use at least two coats of the color because it’s lighter and I wanted a bit more coverage, but you could definitely use one coat and get away with it. This color would work really well for French manicures too. Below you will see an image of what it looks like with two coats as well as well as three.

I liked how easily it applies and how fast it dried. I especially liked the fact that it is an affordable alternative to INGLOT, which usually sells for $15.99 a bottle as opposed to MAYA’s $13.99.
