Over the weekend I was invited to be a judge for the Fashion Design Competition at the Muslim Inter-scholastic Tournament at Chapman University. MIST is an organization that seeks to build leadership skills in high school students by promoting creativity through competition and cultivating a deeper understanding of what it means to be Muslim. I actually participated in it back when I was in high school so it was a nice opportunity to give back to the community and support the Muslim youth.
The dress code for the conference was business casual so I played around with that theme. I didn't want to wear the typical blazer so I spiced it up a little by wearing a chic denim jacket instead. I searched for what seemed like forever for the perfect denim jacket. I wanted one that was both casual yet chic and feminine. I finally came across the PERFECT one that was literally designed with me in mind. I bought it a few years ago and have barely warn it. This denim jacket is the perfect mix of edge and elegance. The zipper around the waist adds an unexpected touch, and the peplum design makes the jacket fiercely feminine. I'm so sorry I forgot to get a shot of the back!! Usually when the hubby takes my photos (he hates doing it btw - what guy doesn't right?) I have a limited amount of shots to get the perfect one so I have to take what I can get lol. I paired the jacket with a white blouse and salmon colored pants instead of the typical black dressy pant. I finished the look with rose gold block heels and a marble print scarf that brought the outfit together beautifully.
Next time you have to dress business casual get a little creative with it and mix up the colors. What do you think of my outfit? Hope you had a wonderful weekend!
xoxo, Hassanah
