So I have to share some footage with you from my recent trip to San Francisco. I mean seriously if you haven't visited yet, then you gotta get yourselves there on your next vacation. It is truly a one-of-a kind adventure, and so perfect for weekend getaways. I've got to say, one of my favorite things about vacations is seeking out the best local flavors and cuisine and let me tell you, I had an incredible experience during my foodie escapades.
We went to this really lovely Iraqi restaurant called Jannah that serves dolma and this incredible eggplant dish swimming in pomegranate sauce, I mean how seriously delectable does that sound? Every dish we ordered was spectacular. You probably remember these dishes from my instastory, I received tons of questions about it.
If you're into mac and cheese (if you aren't I can't be friends with you), and lets be honest, who isn't? Then make your way to Homeroom. A friend recommended this place and god bless her for it! I had the jalapeño mac and cheese and it was SO good. They've got a bunch of flavors for this all-around favorite dish and they even have an option for add-ons where you create the mac and cheese of your dreams.
I also had a popular fried chicken sandwich topped with coleslaw from this whole in the wall place in Oakland, Bakesale Betty's. It does so well for itself that it doesn't even brand it's name on top of the restaurant building. You just have to show up. Plus they're only open a few days a week and for just a couple of hours a day. The sandwich was delicious and worth a try.
We also made our way to THE famous Mr Holmes Bakehouse, one of the top bakeries in all of SF, known for it's donuts and the iconic "I got baked in San Francisco" sign that has taken Instagram by storm. It opens at the crack of dawn and usually sells out of it's goodies.
Best of all, we went to Burma Superstar for amazing Burmese food, which offers a fusion of south east Asian dishes and spices that are ever so unique and delectable. You have to order the Tea Leaf Salad, which is one of their most popular dishes.
Instead of sharing pictures of the dishes I decided to capture it on video for you all so you can really experience it. I hope you enjoy the trailer! I will be sharing Part 2 of my SF trip where I go behind the scenes at Facebook and Instagram headquarters so stay tuned!
Be sure to watch the trailer on my YouTube Channel and let me know what you think! Share with me your favorite SF spots in the comments below. I'll definitely be going back.
